Serious poker players will most likely be familiar
with the name Bluff Media. If not, it is only a matter of time that you will.
Bluff Media is responsible for printing the popular poker magazine fittingly
named Bluff. And with the increase of poker playing in Australia, Bluff
has decided to come out with an issue from Down Under. Called Bluff
Australia, the new version will still remain true to the magazine's original
concept of offering a unique look at playing poker.
According to Bluff publisher, Alan Hyman,
the magazine has been waiting patiently to launch the Australian version at just
the right time. Since gambling, in general, is a large industry in Australia,
but that poker has not quite taken off as it has in the U.S, Hyman says the
magazine was waiting until signs of the poker craze started to surface in
Australia. Now that they most definitely have, Bluff has stepped up to
the plate so that new poker players can learn about the best places to play, how
to play, and what poker games they might be inclined to playing.
Since the U.S. version has done so well -
continuing to offer repeated columns by famed poker professionals like Phil
Gordon and Annie Duke - the overall structure and content of the Australian
issue will remain the same. The only difference will be that the magazine will
include special scoops on the relevant Australian poker scene.
The first issue is scheduled to hit Australian
newsstands on Thursday, April 27, and will feature a write-up by world poker
champion, Joe Hachem, who just so happens to be a citizen of Australia (perhaps
just one reason why the poker craze is starting to bite in Australia). Other
highlights include a discussion with Aussie Millions Champion, Lee Nelson, an in
depth look at the pub poker scene now booming in Australia (and the people
behind it) and a look at the local Aussie players who have begun hitting the
poker circuits in America and Europe.
