All-in-one online sportsbook, casino, and poker room, Bet and
Win, has officially changed their company name as a result several factors,
including an increase in other recognizable online gambling sites using the word
"bet" in their company name, such as Betfair and BetonSports. The new name
is a synthesis of the former, which some people are not even sure how to
pronounce. Bet and Win will now be known as Bwin, which according to
company CEO, Manfred Bodner, is more generic and offers more emotional depth
when recalled.
Parent company of Bwin, Interactive Entertainment, has been
expanding their services over the years, and no longer finds the name Bet and
Win to be as relevant as it was for the online gambling site several years ago.
Considering the site is now comprised of an online casino, poker room and
sportsbook offering the latest in betting technology, including live,
multi-media streams, company executives decided it was time to implement a
change that CEO Bodner says has been successfully taking place over the last two
years.
When the product portfolio and online gambling options became
much broader at the former Bet and Win, it also became necessary for the company
to adopt an umbrella name that would not limit their market reach in any way
whatsoever. Companies like Bodog, Nine and more established businesses
like Victor Chandler, William Hill and Ladbrokes are great examples of companies
with extensive online gambling operations who have successfully used umbrella
names to create a diverse offering of services and products.
The formal brand launching of Bwin is going to take place
without delay. As mentioned earlier, the making of the companies
transition has been going on for several years, and there has not been any
better time to get the brand recognition the company needs to continue being a
top player in the online sports betting, poker, and online casino gambling
industries. Starting August 1, 2006, Bwin will be the new name on the
streets.
