Absolute Poker and UB going nowhere fast

All right poker players, there’s yet more news out from Absolute Poker and UB.com. Oh, I’m seeing it announced at good news. I’m not sure except perhaps in the sense that any announcement by Absolute Poker or UB.com that they haven’t completely gone up in flames is good news.  Today’s “good news” is that it may eventually be possible for US players to get their money out of their Absolute Poker or UB.com accounts.  Of course players are actually waiting for the news that they can get their money back.  But, no, we don’t have that yet.

Okay, here’s the news.  Blanca Games who owns UB.com and Absolute Poker have signed an agreement with the Department of Justice that says third parties may work with players to return the money held by those third parties.  In other words, it looks to me Blanca Games is turning over the responsibility of getting the money back to the players to the third party processors that they used to process funds.

So things over at Absolute Poker and UB.com really aren’t moving forward very fast as far as getting money back to the players. Yes, the online poker rooms keep telling us that it is their highest priority. But actions do speak louder than words. And I think a lot of poker players won’t believe Absolute Poker or UB.com’s words until their money is back in their bank accounts.

I’m not sure how much the UK and European poker rooms are watching what’s going on with UB.com and Absolute Poker in the US market, but we’ve heard that those players are also having trouble with getting their hands on all their funds.  Over all, this can’t be good for the Cereus Network’s reputation.
