Golden Lotus Slots Review

Golden Lotus is one of the new slots out there and it promises an enchanting trip to an Oriental garden where treasure may be won.  Looking at my balance while playing the game, I’m not sure I agree with that description.  Though I have lost more money making bad planting decisions in real world gardens.

First the basics. This is a five reel, twenty-five line slot with wager starting at a penny and working up from there.  The game offers both a minor bonus and a major bonus, which is part of the appeal to players.  The basic 9, 10, J, Q, K symbols are used on the reels and added to by a Chinese latern symbol, a Ming vase (actually more of an urn since it has a lid but I have found images of actual Ming vases with a similar lotus pattern.), a jade Foo lion, a woman with a fan, and what seems to be the Kanji character for luck (my references show slight differences in the calligraphy).  The reels have a nice rice paper texture and the background is a garden with willow trees.

Now those are just the basic winning symbols.  This is the golden lotus slot so there are lotus flowers.  The white lotus is the scatter symbol and three or more of those will trigger free wins with a nice multiplier (3X, 4X or 5X) to help increase your winnings.  During the free spins, the white lotus flowers become gold lotus flowers and hitting three or more of those will retrigger the free spin feature.

The Golden Lotus is the wild symbol and three or more of those will trigger the Golden Lotus feature.  In the Golden Lotus feature, the reels vanish to reveal a pool with eight golden lotus in it.  Players can choose four lotus flower for prizes including free spins or up to 100 times the bet placed.

But if you plan on playing until you trigger a bonus round, make an extra pot of tea and use the auto play feature to save your trigger finger.  After an hour of play, I triggered the White Lotus feature once for eight free spins. It took nearly two additional hours of autoplay before I triggered the Golden Lotus feature.  Essentially, I wrote this article, researched Ming vases, Foo lions and Kanji characters in the time it took.  So, overall this slot has added to my repertoire of strange knowledge, but not to my bankroll.
