Microgaming casinos closing to US players

I haven’t yet seen an official announcement from Microgaming itself, but the news is already circulating on the web that at least some Microgaming online casinos are closing to players from the United States. Yet more fallout from Friday’s seizure of top online poker rooms operating in the United States.

Now, since I can’t find official announcements, I’m having to research this casino by casino.  I became suspicious earlier today when a visit to the Villento Las Vegas web site (not the software on my computer) took me to a welcome page where I could ask a question rather than the splash screen for the casino.  The casino itself is still announcing players from the US in its winners list but clicking the deposit option takes me to the info page. I don’t currently have money in the account and I rather suspect I won’t be able to add any. But currently there is no info on the site telling me I can’t play there.

All Slots Casino is another matter.  A visit to the site on the web reveals a US Flag with a slash through it. Again, I didn’t have money in an account on the site, but I can’t even access it in practice mode now.  There is a message telling me to check my mailbox for an important announcement. I can find the message but it may not have made it through the spam filter.

But if you have an account at a Microgaming casino, you might want to log in and check the status.  Meanwhile, I’ll try to find out if the casinos are closing to US players over all or just closing to new accounts but allowing players with existing accounts to continue playing.
