This slot features graphics that give us an amusing take on Greek myths. Playing feels a bit like a pop quiz on — what is this mythical Greek creature, but the animation and cartoon like characters do add charm to the game. The slot takes you on a tale of Perseus and the Medusa. A little myth refresher, young Perseus in pursuit of love promises to bring a gift to a king. The king asks for the head of Medusa, a Gorgon with snakes for hair and the ability to turn people to stone. Perseus sets off in pursuit of Medusa and Hermes, Athena and Hades all provide him gifts. Like many Greek tales, Perseus wanders around having adventures for long enough for a bard to get through a fairly long story-telling session at a banquet before our hero finds the Gorgon and cuts off her head by using his shield to see her so he doesn’t have to look directly at her. Got all that? Good. This is a slots game so it doesn’t come into play at all. Except — you too are about to undertake a long journey in search of the elusive Gorgon named Medusa.
Medusa in the game is the lady with the green snakes for hair. She’s also the scatter symbol and hitting 3, 4 or 5 ladies will win you 15 free spins at a 4x multiplier. Score five Medusas and you’ll win 50 times your total bet, which is the top pay off for this machine. My problem was that while I did fairly good at getting one or two Medusas on the reels who blew me kisses and paid off with a scatter win, hitting three Medusas was a difficult chore. I only managed one round of free spins in my review play.
The “Stash of the Titans symbol” is the wild and if you manage to line up five of those, you will ten times your payline. Our hero Perseus is mounted onto of a Pegasus and the good news here is that Perseus and the treasure chest will even pay out even if they’re mixed on a payline.
Those are the big pay outs. For a bit of the basics, Stash of the Titans is a five reel, twenty payline Microgaming slot machine with wagers starting at a penny and going up from there. The graphics are fun and for a run down on the Greek creatures you’ll see:
You’ll also find a chest of treasure and the Parthenon, this one apparently devoted to money, but remember Greek myths often gave an example of how much trouble money could cause.
