Online Progressive Jackpot Basics

Progressive jackpots can be found at just about every established online casino these days.  If you are not familiar with progressive jackpots, they are the one's that continually grow larger until someone hits the big winner.  Every time a player makes a wager, the majority of it goes into a single jackpot which all gamblers playing that particular game get their winnings out of.

Most online casinos will advertise the progressive jackpot as a number steadily building dollar by dollar.  Although this number does not exactly reflect the jackpot total at that very second, it does represent the approximate total adequately enough.

Some gamblers ask whether the jackpot is just a way to get people to play the game, and that there is no way the jackpot could possibly get as large as it often appears to be in a single online casino  (Some grow into the millions of dollars).  However, gamblers need to understand that the jackpot is not actually being built up from players gambling at a single online casino.  Rather, the porgressive jackpot is networked through multiple casinos and gambling sites that offer the same exact progressive game.  The software platform for each game is leased to online gaming sites who share the platform between one another.  A gambler at Casino "A" could win a large portion of the jackpot one second, while a player at Casino "C" could win a tenth of a second later.

To sum it up, progressive jackpots are no kidding matter.  Of course you are competing with thousands of other gamblers for the same jackpot.  However, they would not grow as big as they do if it were any other way.
