A Round of
Applause for eCOGRA Online Regulations

In our next tip we will discuss the second part of our
prior tip regarding gaming fairness and how properly
regulated online casinos ensure those fairness standards
are met and maintained. For now, let's bring our attention
back to eCOGRA.
Having spent the greater part of the last
three weeks discussing the findings of the eCOGRA Global
Online Gambler Report, our in-depth series of tips has finally
come to a close. We must first give a round of applause to eCOGRA and all those who helped spearhead the largest
survey of online gamblers to date. Additionally, the
straightforward analysis used and insightful correlations
derived from the survey and published in eCOGRA's report
deserves yet another round of applause. So long as
movements like these continue to be undertaken, the online
casino gaming industry will be nurtured with the right
food that will ensure its continued growth and widespread
regulation.
That being said, one final thing we would like
to draw attention to in the report is about player
protection bodies, such as
eCOGRA. Of those internet
gamblers who were surveyed, only 28.6% had even heard of
eCOGRA. Following the survey, however, nearly 70% of the
bunch said they would look for eCOGRA's Play it Safe Seal.
While it is good to know that more players are coming to
know what proper regulation standards and online casino
credentials entail, the fact remains that there is a
general lack of awareness still in this regard. The fact
that one-third of gamblers thought there was an on/off
switch hooked into the software that gaming site operators
could use to work the odds in their favor, supports this
notion that more work still needs to be done to help get
players in the know.
It was great news to hear that
customer service from within the online gaming industry
was, as a whole, rated better than other industries. Women
were more inclined to give it a positive rating than men,
which is interesting considering the fact that men tend to
win more often than women. Even more interesting about
this finding is that considering the previously mentioned
lack of awareness in terms of regulation, one would think
players might be more inclined to view casino gaming sites with
more skepticism, and consequently pay no mind to standards
of customer service. However, this was certainly not the
case.
Now, it is nigh time that the message gets out
there. The internet gaming industry is one of the safest
and most professionally operated industries on the Web -
and it is here to stay.
