Listening to Music While Gambling Online
by Mike Harrison, Strategy and Games Writer

Here at Online Casino Project we have been talking a lot about achieving financial success. And why not, right? We should be talking about that every day of the year. True, gambling should be about having fun, being entertained and escaping from the tedium of the real world. But why can't gambling be all of these things at once, while still being a means of achieving financial success? Well, it can.

Taking another look at some of the findings and suggestions of the eCOGRA Global Online Gambler Report, a correlation was shown between listening to music and achieving more financial success at the poker tables. Although the study did not extend this correlation to gambling at online casinos, the likelihood remains that listening to music may have an impact on financial success in all realms of gambling.

We can all confirm that depending on the type and mood of music we are listening to (as well as the type of mood we ourselves are in to begin with), the music will have an impact on our emotional state. Consequently, our emotions have a significant impact on our decision-making process, which we all know can be the difference between winning and losing, as well as how fast we eat up our bankroll, or preserve it.

A study was actually undertaken in which casino gamblers playing roulette were forced to listen to high-energy dance music. Based on previous betting trends, all of the roulette players took greater risks in the session with the dance music playing. Luckily, they won more money due to taking greater risks. And while this could easily have turned the other way and resulted in big losses for the players, it goes to show that music does indeed have an impact on the decision making process.

Our suggestion is that you should try listening to different types of music and pay attention to how different types of music make you feel. If you find something that breeds confidence, peace of mind and relaxation (not too relaxed), then by all means listen to it the next time you hit up the casinos.
