Referencing Video Poker Strategy Charts

Learning video poker strategy requires consulting a strategy table corresponding to the specific version of video poker you are playing, whether it be Jacks or Better, Deuces Wild or Joker Wild.  When first learning a strategy it is best to have the strategy table in plain site for quick reference.  This is especially helpful when playing online video poker.

A good strategy table will list all the possible poker hands in the order they should be played.  Therefore, when you are dealt your initial hand, scan the strategy table from the top on down until you see your hand.  The chart will tell you exactly how many cards to draw, which you should follow to a T.

After a while, you will find yourself drawing the same, if now similar hands, and not needing to check the strategy chart. However, it is still a good idea to have it handy, for there will be times when there is more than one way to draw cards on a hand.

For instance, how should one draw on a hand that is a four card flush, but is also two cards away from a Royal Flush?  The answer is that a good video poker strategy chart will tell you exactly how to draw your cards based on your chances of winning.
