today. The welfare of casinos greatly depends on the activity of their slot
machines, which despite the risky venture they offer, will always attract
dedicated players seeking entertainment, fun and winnings. While slot machines
may not be one of the most strategic games in the casino, they certainly award
the most consistently high payouts of any other game. Just take a look at the
"Recent Winners" at a popular online casino, and you will assuredly see a daily
stream of winning jackpots in the thousands. With several types of progressive
jackpots, formats and styles, there is a slot machine for every occasion, suited
to each player's bankroll and betting needs.
Thus presents our series of slot
machine tips, which have been written in an effort to enlighten players seeking to know more about slot
machines, how to maximize their profit playing them, and above all, how to have
fun while doing so. These tips can be applied to both land-based gambling
operations and online casinos, many of which now offer hundreds of different
slot machines for recreational gambling. Let's begin by discussing the original
slot machine prototype: reel machines.
Spinning reel machines are also called
line machines, for they are composed of at least a single horizontal line of
symbols. There are mainly three different varieties of this popular machine,
including multi-lines, coin multipliers and option-buys.
Reel machines always have three vertical spinning reels and at least
one line, although these machines commonly come in three, five and nine lines. A coin is
required to bet on each line, although one does not have to bet on all the lines
to spin the reels. Although it costs more to bet on multiple lines at once, the
payoff will generally be of a higher ratio (called modified multipliers).
In other words, the more one risks, the better the
payoff will be, as confirmed by the payout table for
each machine.
For players who do not mind higher bankroll requirements, multi-line slot
machines are a fine choice. A less common reel (line) slot
machines are Option-Buy games. These machines usually offer a single payline,
but with the opportunity to still wager extra coins - hence the option-buy. The
payouts can be more complicated to understand, and therefore will be covered in
the next tip of our slot machine tips series.
